District is an ongoing photographic exploration of the Poplar district in London.

This is the first place where I ended up for a long stay after moving to England.

In this area 41 percent of residents are from Bangladesh, 23 percent are White British. This situation with the population of the area is reflected on its appearance.

As far as I have been able to sense at the moment, this area visually differs from other more central or conventionally prosperous areas. Streets and houses are covered with signs of and by people who live here.

For me, everything here is new and completely different from the canonical representation of London, which was imposed on me in childhood by school books

and films. This district, lacking romanticism completely, remains a mystery to me,

which I unravel from separate fragments of random phenomena.
